Aishu birthday 2022

on October 25, 2022

M S blue with arakku border!
The first birthday pattu (silk) pavadai stitched by paternal grandmom. When the pavadai bits were of big size, I went for this silk fabric separately and the jarigai( border) separately and got it stitched by mom in law.
The jade and pearl necklace is thatha paati’s birthday gift. The oversized artificial rose and pottu( tikli) were my contribution. Sorry @aishoo for such pathetic dressing, but I still love it for we ammas’ then knew only this type of dressing for kids.
I had this super kid on this day many years ago, who was born with a birthweight of 1.8 kgs, short limbs, beautiful black dense hair till the nape of the neck that the aayaahs’ and nurses parted with their fingers on the second day, big round beautiful eyes, which was and is full of compassion, and a great smile that melts hearts.
YOU HAVE A BEAUTIFUL BABY GIRL, SHE IS GOING TO BE SHORT. ACCEPT THE FACT. SO WHAT? LAL BAHADHUR SHASTRI WAS SHORT, AND YET WAS THE PRIME MINISTER OF INDIA.
நன்னா படிக்க வைங்கோ
உங்கள மாதிரியே நல்ல human being ஆ வளர்க்கணும் நீங்க
( give her the best education and bring her up as the best human being)
Were my pediatrician Dr Pannaga Rajagopal’s words as I was weaning from the anesthetic effect, in a copper sulphate blue floral print nightie on a beautiful Thursday mid morning when she placed the blessing we brought into this world by my side to nurse.
I took the doctor’s words so seriously, so seriously that I would like to find out where she is now and present this girl and bow in front of her. Mission accomplished! I have a heart overflowing with gratitude to Almighty, all the doctors till date who encouraged me in parenting both the kids, my in laws, my parents and all the friends and family who accepted the kids as they are. Its a beautiful day and I just don’t want to even think or write about the pain we have endured/ enduring in people’s words and action. May God bless them too.( sarcasam intended). As people who are closest to me know, the reason I give, for me being amma to this kid, I am proud, with a tinge of arrogance in being one.
Happy birthday !
Stay blessed
Appa me and Shriya are your constant pillar of strength.
